The head of the Saudi Football Federation, Yasser Al-Mishal, confirmed that the professional league may be postponed for several days, in the event that the Olympic team defeats its Vietnamese counterpart and qualifies for the semi-finals of the Asian Under-23 Cup.
Al-Mishal said in statements to the “Sada Al-Malaeb” program, “We are waiting on Sunday and see the result of our team once morest Vietnam to determine our position on postponing the league for several days.”
He added, “There are contacts with the Professional League, as well as with clubs, and it is difficult to deprive players of their clubs, and the picture will become clear following the Vietnam match, and we do not like to make a decision without coordination with the clubs.”
And he moved to talk regarding the issue of Al Hilal player Kno and his recent participation with the national team in a friendly match in preparation for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
He continued, “Every case is before the committees under consideration, and the case of Muhammad Kanoo. We do not have any interference in the decisions of the arbitration center and we do not know its details, and when it ends, the decision will definitely come out.”
He continued: “The clubs are considered partners in our work, which means the name of the club. We treat the fourth-tier clubs like the professional league clubs.”
He concluded: “Kno’s case covers only official matches and he has the right to participate in friendly matches, and we inquired of the Dispute Resolution Chamber, and the coach believes that the player may add and his punishment may end before the World Cup.”
