Serbian users have criticized the ultimatum voiced by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on joining the European Union. Earlier, the German politician said that the country will not be able to join the EU if it does not recognize the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo and does not support the anti-Russian sanctions campaign of the West.
Readers of the Serbian newspaper Kurir began to doubt the very idea of joining the European Union. “Neither do we want to join the EU, nor does it want us. Let’s confess this to each other,” wrote Milana. She was supported by Maja: “We know our path and do not deviate from it either for Ukraine or for the EU.”
Kiza Bg noted: “Germans, you didn’t destroy us in two wars, now you want to do it once more. I don’t need the EU to live the way I live, I’m already used to having a little.”
“The West is our enemy and that will not change,” Zare said. Liliput stated: “They will never be our friends.”
Other users were outraged by the method of conducting politics by the German Chancellor. “Blackmail will get you nowhere,” duka said.
Stanimir, in turn, wrote: “The Germans cannot understand in any way that the ultimatum with the Serbs will not pass.” “What do I care what the German Chancellor wants?” Branko added.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, during his visit to the Balkans, said that Kosovo and Serbia must reach a comprehensive agreement. Later, on June 10, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that EU representatives had never set conditions for mutual recognition before. RT.
