The bloody attack that occurred in a building on 21 between 61 and 62 had the worst ending. María Virginia Munivez, the 57-year-old woman who was stabbed in front of her granddaughter, died yesterday at the San Martín hospital.
The speech therapist was initially admitted to San Juan de Dios with a fracture in the orbit of her left eye and a deep cut on her head, but was later referred to the former Polyclinic of 1 and 70, where she underwent surgery. However, she passed away.
For this fact they arrested a suspect who had been targeted by the victim’s own daughter. It was she who even found her mother lying on the ground in a large pool of blood.
The 27-year-old subject, nicknamed “Angel Face”, with a leafy criminal record, was caught by local DDI officers at 56 between 20 and 21, a few blocks from the crime scene.
Spokespersons for the case informed EL DIA that, having identified the suspect, they carried out an operation in the area he used to frequent and thus were able to apprehend him.
The defendant for “homicide on the occasion of robbery” was transferred to the Medical Corps, where the corresponding studies were carried out, a circumstance that he would have taken advantage of to attempt a frustrated escape.
Finally, “Cara de Ángel” did not achieve its goal and was housed in the dependency of 12 between 61 and 62, waiting for its procedural situation to be resolved.
It all happened last Tuesday, at noon, when Munivez was violently attacked while she was taking care of her granddaughter, barely a year and a half old.
At that time, her daughter had gone out for a few minutes to buy at the neighborhood store, when a person entered the apartment and stabbed the victim.
The first information did not specify if it had been a robbery, since they had not registered missing. Hours later, it was confirmed that the assailant had taken a 55-inch television and a laptop.
When her daughter returned home, she found her mother lying on the ground, bloodied and unconscious.
After calling 911, a cell phone from the fifth police station went to the scene, along with DDI personnel and a SAME ambulance.
The woman was rushed to the San Juan de Dios hospital, where she underwent surgery. Later, she was referred to San Martín, where she finally passed away.
The researchers are considering several hypotheses, but the one that gains the most strength at this time is that of an entrance.
Judicial sources informed EL DIA that the robbery would have been committed thanks to the participation of a betrayer, who would have knowledge of the victim’s movements.
On the other hand, the experts confirmed that the entrance doors to the building and the apartment were not forced, which adds a big question: how did the murderer get to Munivez.
Another piece of information provided by the victim’s daughter is that she had been threatened days before by the suspect, as a result of a significant sum of money that he owed her.
Meanwhile, prosecutor Marcelo Romero, head of UFI No. 6 and who is leading the case, will request the arrest of the arrested person, who will be investigated in the next few hours in court.
