The Tunisian Premier League club, Esperance, announced the dismissal of its coach, Radhi Jaidi, by mutual consent, following the sudden exit from the Tunisian Cup.
Esperance bid farewell to the tournament by losing 6-5 on penalties once morest Hilal Masaken, the second-tier rival, following the original and extra time ended with a 1-1 draw.
Esperance, the record holder in the Tunisian Cup with 14 titles, added in a statement on Facebook: “It was agreed between the Tunisian sports club, Esperance, and coach Radhi Jaidi to terminate the contract between the two parties.”
Jaidi, the former Esperance defender, took over the team’s training following the departure of Mouin Chabani before the start of the current season. Esperance did not clarify the identity of the next coach before the last three rounds of the league crowning stage.
Esperance leads the coronation stage with 17 points, two ahead of USM Monastir, following the team lost five points in the last two matches.
Esperance has three matches once morest Africain, Etoile du Sahel and Ittihad Ben Gardane.
The team was eliminated from the African Champions League from the quarter-finals following losing 1-0 at home to Algeria’s ES Setif, following a 0-0 draw in the first leg.
