In all the cantons, La Poste allows at least 94% of the population to access its cash payment services in a maximum of 20 minutes. These are the conclusions of an annual analysis published on Thursday by the Federal Office of Communications (Ofcom). The latter comes to the conclusion that La Poste fully meets the requirements set by the Federal Council.

Last year, the share of the population able to access the cash payment services offered by La Poste in 20 minutes at most, on foot or by public transport, increased in seven cantons, while it remained stable in eleven others. On the other hand, it fell by an average of 0.4% in eight cantons (AR, GE, JU, SO, TG, TI, VD and ZH). With a proportion exceeding 94%, the minimum threshold of 90%, required in each canton, is respected everywhere.

At the end of 2021, La Poste had 805 post offices, 1,251 branches (established in shops), 888 postomats and 1,847 regions benefiting from home service. The number of offices fell by 97 during the year, while the number of branches increased by 66. In its new “Post of tomorrow” strategy, the company plans to stabilize the number of its own-use station.
