“My life is at risk”: Rodolfo Hernández announces that he is suspending his public appearances until June 19

Through his Twitter account, the presidential candidate Rodolfo Hernández surprised following announcing that he will suspend his public appearances until next Sunday, June 19, the date of the second round.

The engineer made reference to the recordings revealed by WEEK where members of the Historic Pact, including Senator Roy Barreras, they discuss a dirty war plan to affect Federico Gutiérrez before the first presidential round, who at that time was second in the polls and escorted Gustavo Petro in voting intentions. The plan was also intended to affect other candidates.

Yesterday some videos were made public where Petro and the politicians around him show that they are a criminal gang”, expressed Rodolfo Hernández in his first trill. Immediately, he stated that the videos made it clear “that they have no limit, that they are willing to do anything to come to power, to go over anyone, to break any principle.”

Later, the presidential candidate of the League of Anti-Corruption Rulers made a sensitive statement. “At this moment I am certain that my life is at risk.. It is clear that we can expect anything, even the most serious, from a political group that behaves like a criminal gang,” said the engineer.

For this reason, Rodolfo Hernández announced that, for his safety, he had made the decision to cancel all his public appearances until June 19, also with the aim of “guaranteeing the possibility of a democratic election.”

“All Colombians have the responsibility of not allowing them to end democracy. That’s how they start and we fear the worst regarding how it might end,” said Rodolfo Hernández. Finally, he made an “urgent call for the union of all Colombians to defend democracy.”

“That will be killed with a knife”

From Miami, Rodolfo Hernández denounced that he received the alert regarding an alleged plan to attempt on his life. “(…) Put your signature on it. I already received the warning that they are trying to kill me. And that kill is not lead; that will be killed by knife. Why knife? Because it turns out that people go to the airport to meet me, or we go to a room like this and you have to go in. There they put four or five that protect me, but when there are 500 pushing, they are telling me that they are going to stab me, “said the candidate.

“And I’m so salty that I don’t die and I’m in a wheelchair,” he joked at the end of his speech.

“Colombia does not deserve to be governed by this criminal gang”: Rodolfo Hernández on the ‘Petrovideos’

WEEK revealed the explosive recordings of the meetings held by members of the Historical Pact in the midst of Gustavo Petro’s campaign. In the audiovisual pieces, it can be seen how this political movement launched a dirty war strategy to discredit several of the former presidential candidates.

“Clear political action. Let’s think tactically if we have to divide the center, if this is of any use, take the abandoned Fajardo and bring him back, or rather we go head-on once morest Alejandro Gaviria”, says Roy Barreras in one of the videos that went viral on social media.

Given these revelations, the engineer Rodolfo Hernández did not remain silent and assured that Colombia does not deserve to be led by such a corrupt coalition, which he described as a “criminal gang”.

The Santanderean, in the same way, took advantage of the situation to dispatch himself once morest the former mayor of Bogotá and stated that he is surrounded by “politickers”, for which he emphasized that this does not represent the true change that the country needs.

“Is this the president that Colombia wants? Colombia does not deserve to be governed by this criminal gang. Remember that Petro is not Petro, Petro is all those outright politicians with whom he hangs out”, he specified on Twitter.
