“The best thing (to) help the five (African) selections who qualified for the World Cup is to stop the playoffs in September and give countries the opportunity to prepare. (…) Otherwise , we will not prepare as we should. It is up to the CAF (African Football Confederation) (to act). I think that we can find a solution to postpone the playoffs scheduled for September” declared Aliou Cissé at a press conference on Tuesday evening, according to comments relayed by The Team.
Instead of the playoffs in September, the reigning African champion technician is calling for friendly matches so that Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon, Morocco and Tunisia prepare for the World Cup in the best possible way. To see if CAF will respond positively to Aliou Cissé’s request.
