The lawyer representing the Chilean Federation, Eduardo Carlezzo, explained to his country’s National Television that the 43-page complaint to FIFA shows “clearly that the Ecuadorian departure certificate that the player uses is false. and that, on the other hand, the Colombian certificate is true”.
“This conclusion is not only ours, but also that of other organizations and of the Ecuadorian soccer federation itself,” he added.
According to the jurist, “specifically to Byron Castillo in 2018 an investigative commission of the Ecuadorian soccer federation, analyzing all the background and documents, determined that the player was Colombian. Therefore, it is not only us who say that, it is the Ecuadorian federation in an official document, which we have sent to FIFA, which declares him as Colombian”.
