World-class midfielder Luka Modric (37) will accompany ‘Spanish giant’ Real Madrid for one more year.
Real Madrid officially announced on the 8th (Korean time) that they had agreed to an extension contract with Modric on the club’s website.
Modric will play for Real Madrid until 30 June 2023.
Having played for Real Madrid since 2012, Modric has won numerous trophies for his team.
Together with Real Madrid, he won the Spanish La Liga three times and the UEFA Champions League five times.
He also contributed to the team’s league and UCL championships in the 2021-2022 season.
Modric, who will wear the same jersey for the 2022-2023 season, said on social media, “I am very happy to announce that I can continue to play for the best club in the world.”
He continued, “It’s been 10 years since I realized my dream of wearing this team’s uniform, but I will continue my aspirations on the first day.
Let’s go together,” he wrote.
