In the ORF night talk “Stöckl” on June 9 at 11:05 p.m. on ORF 2

Vienna (OTS) In the current edition of the ORF Nighttalk “Stöckl” on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 11:05 p.m. on ORF 2, musician and composer Herbert Pixner, model Baraa Bolat, event manager Georg Fechter and traditional costume entrepreneur Gexi Tostmann are with Barbara Stöckl to guest.

“Back then, my father bought me a very expensive accordion, for which he even sold two cows. Back then as a teenager I was already a bit wild, with souped-up motorbikes, heavy metal, long hair and rebellious. My father hoped that the accordion would put me on the ‘straight path’,” says folk musician Herbert Pixner. The father’s hope has come true, today the South Tyrolean mountain farmer’s son fills the halls with his extraordinary music.

Event manager Georg Fechter knows how to put on a good show. As the initiator of the “Masters of Dirt” motocross show, he is now expanding to Saudi Arabia. In “Stöckl” the son of the artist manager Herbert Fechter talks regarding the challenges of the new market, dealing with a completely different culture and how his Arabic is now doing.

Baraa Bolat took part in a model casting show in 2019 and has since been considered the first model in Austria to wear a headscarf. The Viennese woman with Tunisian roots is now a successful entrepreneur and social media star and still faces hostility because of her headscarf.

Gexi Tostmann, who celebrates her 80th birthday in August, is also confronted with prejudices as a traditional costumes entrepreneur and yet repeatedly breaks a lance for the dirndl. For more than 40 years, Tostmann has been committed to regionalism and craftsmanship, long before it became a trend.
