Smallpox (monkey pox) Differences in the outbreak in Africa and in Europe 2022
monkey poxIt is endemic to Africa. An outbreak in Africa is different from an outbreak outside Africa or in Europe. 2022 has the following differences:
• Patient’s age
Africa meets all ages from the first year to 60 years and older.
Europe 2022 sees between the ages of 20 and 50 in reproductive age.
• sex
Africa is found in two-thirds of males and one-third of females.
Europe 2022 is 98-99 percent male, only 1-2 percent female.
• Contact
Africa Animal-to-human transmission especially rodents such as rats
Europe 2022 No animal-to-human evidence There is evidence from person to person. and has an academic journal report that sexually transmitted
• lesions
Africa, found outdoors, hands, feet, face, throat
Europe 2022: Up to 30% of cases found in indoor fabrics, especially in the genital area.
