macOS Ventura is compatible with many Macs from 2016 and later. Here we can check the complete list

Though macOS Venturathe new version of the operating system for our Macs, start the tour only as a beta version following its presentation in the WWDC 2022the countdown to its final release has already begun. In this sense, it is convenient that we know if our Macs will have macOS Ventura support.

Compatibility with computers from 6 years ago

Macs have always been characterized by offering a really long-term software support. macOS Ventura confirms this, since the first Macs that can run the new operating system are the 2016 MacBook Pros, that is, presented six years ago. The full compatibility list is as follows:

  • iMac: end of 2017 onwards.
  • iMac Pro: 2017.
  • MacBook Air: 2018 onwards.
  • MacBook Pro: 2016 onwards.
  • Mac Pro: 2019 onwards.
  • Mac mini: 2018 onwards.
  • MacBook: 2017 onwards.

Thus, if we have one of these Macs we can install macOS Ventura when the official version is definitively presented in the fall of this year or venture to try the beta version if we dare to do so.

Keep in mind, however, that some features of macOS Ventura, like enhanced dictation, for example, will be available only on Macs running M1, while others will depend on the machine model in which we install it. Beyond this, if we have one of the Macs on the list, we have a clear path to Ventura.
