Guanajuato wines awarded at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2022

As grapes are harvested from life, the wines of the state of Guanajuato continue to reap gold and silver medals at the “Concours Mondial de Bruxelles” (CMB), which is the most prestigious competition in the world, yielded the results of the “Session of Red and White Wines 2022”

There, where experts from the entire international wine sector tasted -from May 19 to 21- more than 7,300 wines from from almost 40 countries, including Guanajuato wines.

In this session, Guanajuato was awarded 5 gold and 3 silver medals. The winners are: Casa Anza, with 3 gold medals and 1 silver, awarded to its wines Reserva 2018, Reserva II 2018, Gran Reserva 2018 and Gran Reserva de la Familia 2018; Cuna de Tierra, with 1 gold and 1 silver medal, awarded to its Pago de Vega 2018 and Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 wines; and Tres Raíces, with a gold and 1 silver medal, awarded to its Rose 2021 and Gran Reserva 2016 wines.

The Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato applauded the winegrowers for produce high quality wines and to continue positioning -by caring for the land, professionalization and continuous innovation- the destination worldwide.

Guanajuato is “Land of Wines”. SECTUR has promoted the state’s oenological segment at a national and international level, through this value proposition in the local promotion strategy within the entity.

The wine in Guanajuato is has produced for more than 400 years and, recently, municipalities of the entity have resumed their winemaking vocation, gradually consolidating vineyards and wine-producing houses in the region.

Today the entity has 34 vineyards registered in the Grape and Wine Association and there is a record of 9 vineyards not included in the association that, together, have 385 hectares harvested and expansion projects of 120 hectares in the short term.

Within these vineyards open to the public is Casa Anza, located in San Miguel de Allende; Cuna de Tierra and Tres Raíces, located in Dolores Hidalgo, which together with all the vineyards allow the development of the wine industry, a factor that implicitly recognizes agribusiness as the engine of the economy and the assembly of sectors in the value chain.

Concours Mondial de Bruxelles continues to offer consumers a guarantee: to recognize and differentiate irreproachable quality wines from all over the world and in all price ranges.
