British Prime Minister Boris Johnson survived his own Conservative party’s vote of no confidence. 211 MPs from the Tories voted in London on Monday evening for Johnson to remain as party leader and thus also as prime minister, but 148 MPs voted no confidence in him. In the end, 32 votes were missing to force Johnson to resign.
However, the extent of the revolt once morest the party leader is likely to further weaken his authority – so Johnson’s future as prime minister is by no means certain following this vote.
