iOS 16, macOS Ventura, which devices can be used

Apple unveiled compatible devices through a preview page of a new operating system to be released in the second half of this year right following the keynote speech at the World Developers Conference (WWDC) 22 held online at 10 am local time on the 6th (2 pm Korean time) on the 6th of the United States.

iPhones can be updated from the iPhone 8 released in 2017, and iPads can be updated from the iPad 5th generation released in 2017. iPhone 6S and iPhone 7, iPad mini 4th generation, and iPad Air 2 that were supported until last year can no longer be updated to the latest version from this year.

macOS Ventura cannot be updated on all devices released before 2017, and the iPod touch is no longer supported.

The following is a list of compatible devices for each operating system.

▲ iOS 16: iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11 series, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone SE (2nd generation or later)

▲ iPadOS 16 = iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air (3rd generation or later), iPad (5th generation or later), iPad mini (5th generation or later)

For each operating system, beta versions for developers will be provided from today (7th), and previews for general users will be provided from July, and will be officially released following the third quarter.
