Mr. Saigo, Kagoshima constituency, announces that he will run for the upper house.[06/06 20:20]
Ayumi Saigo, a former member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly, has announced that she will run for the Kagoshima constituency in the Upper House election, which is expected to be announced on the 22nd of this month. Currently, there are 6 people scheduled to run, and if all of them run for the race, it will be the highest number ever since 2001, when the number of re-elections was 1.
(Independent Ayumi Saigo) “No growth without reform. I would like to do my best for Kagoshima and Japan with all my heart.”
Ayumi Saigo is 37 years old born in Chiba prefecture, and her mother is from Tokunoshima town. After working as a secretary to a member of the House of Representatives and a member of the Chuo Ward of Tokyo, she has served as a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly for one term and four years since 2017. She said she would run for the Upper House election without her affiliation and she would like to work on child-rearing support and economic policies.
(Independent Ayumi Saigo) “Child-rearing policy. I want to put investment in future children first. I want to enrich the economy and protect my life in all Kagoshima.”
Seiko Yanagi, a newcomer to the Constitutional Democratic Party, and Hironobu Yamaguchi, a newcomer to the Communist Party, have announced that they will run in the Kagoshima constituency. The parties signed a common policy on the 5th. Mr. Yamaguchi has stopped running, and it has been decided to unify it with Mr. Yanagi.
In addition, Tetsuro Nomura, an incumbent of the Liberal Democratic Party, Atsushi Kusao, a newcomer to the NHK Party, Takuma Noboru, a newcomer to the political organization and the party, and Junichi Murozono, an independent newcomer, have announced that they will run in the Kagoshima constituency.
If all six run for the election, the number of re-elections in the Kagoshima constituency will be the highest ever since 2001, and it seems that five newcomers will challenge Mr. Nomura, who is aiming for the fourth term.
