For many years, Mahmoud Al-Sayegh has been looking for an opportunity to meet football star Mohamed Salah, a player for the Egyptian national team and Liverpool FC. He goes to training, attends matches, but returns from them without achieving what he wanted. Disappointment was not the only thing that afflicted the young man, because of the sharp curvature of the spine, and the shortness of the legs of his feet, the frequent movement hurts him, but he finally achieved what he desired.

Last Thursday evening, the Egyptian national team players were training in preparation for the Guinea match. On that day, a press conference was to be held in the evening, and Al-Sayegh knew regarding it, so he decided to take a risk and go to the training headquarters, hoping to fulfill his dream of meeting Salah, taking a picture with him, and showing him his condition. The young man who studies at the Faculty of Commerce at Al-Azhar University did not believe himself when the security allowed him to enter, but with conditions and controls. At the beginning of the exercise, the young man was standing steps away from the field when he saw Mohamed Salah.

“I was very happy that I finally met him, I wanted to hug him by God, but I was afraid for him because he was satisfied in Corona, and I told him that this is an honor for me, and it was very good taste with me,” says the 25-year-old, who was keen to take a picture with Mohamed Salah, and a number of other players And before Salah left, he told him that there was something he would like to show him, so that the Egyptian national team star told him that this would happen following the exercise, and that Al-Sayegh should wait nearby until it was finished.

Those minutes passed quickly on the young man who kept looking at the photo that Salah had collected, and shared it through his account on Facebook, so his friends celebrated him: “And the people of the eastern El-Fent village, from which I am, rejoiced in me, and all the people were blessing me for the photo.” And as soon as the training was over, Salah approached Al-Sayegh and listened to his problem, which he would like to present to him.

Al-Sayegh studies at Al-Azhar University, lives in the university city during his studies, and works in one of the youth centers in the assembly, which is a large distance, in which he pays large sums of money only for transportation, and with the end of the study period approaching and the young man’s hope to live and work in Cairo, he aspires to adequate housing To him in Cairo: “When I said to Salah like this, he told me I understood you, I mean you, the world will stop you.”

Mohamed Salah asked one of his guards to take Al-Sayegh’s phone number, and promised him to achieve what he wanted, and he went on. Al-Sayegh says that he cried a lot following that moment, feeling that his dream had finally come true, following years of traveling between Minya and Cairo: “It is a great distance and it is more difficult for me because of my condition.”

Mahmoud has two brothers and two sisters, a father who retired following a long work teaching English, and a mother who works in a local unit at the young man’s center. Mahmoud had previously taken several photos with prominent figures and officials in Egypt, led by Sheikh Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Dr. Ali Gomaa, the former Grand Mufti of Egypt, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Mahrasawi, President of Al-Azhar University, and his meeting with them was on various occasions, between international exhibitions or honoring from Al-Azhar University, or occasions where the university chooses some students to go to.
