Zelensky warns of “dangerous breakthrough” of Russian troops in Donbass

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky warned that the situation in Donbass might worsen significantly.

Now, as the Ukrainian leader noted, “a threatening situation has developed in the Zaporozhye region and Severodonetsk.”

“If there is a breakthrough in the Donbass, it will be very difficult for us,” the RBC-Ukraine portal quoted Zelensky as saying.

“There are more of them, they are more powerful,” he said, adding that the Ukrainian military has a chance to hold back the offensive.

The Ukrainian president noted that in the event of a breakthrough, the offensive of the Russian troops might go south, and the Russian military would also be able to launch missile strikes at the center, at strategic enterprises.

He did not rule out that Russian troops might return to the territories they previously controlled.

Zelensky also stressed that Russia’s plans are still difficult to calculate.
