Biniyam Shibre’s dream is to become an MMA fighter
On the June 5 episode of 90 day fiance Season 9, it’s a few weeks following her big move from Ethiopia to Princeton, New Jersey. Now that Biniyam is getting a taste of American life, he wants to pursue his dream of becoming a professional MMA fighter.
Back in Ethiopia, Biniyam had made a career out of his many talents. In addition to his work as a performer and dancer, he also worked as a personal trainer. He has also made money as a DJ and musician. The multifaceted athlete, musician and dancer is now ready to start training and get serious regarding fighting MMA with hopes of becoming a UFC fighter.
Biniyam Shibre Is ‘Babycool’ MMA Fighter
How is Biniyam’s MMA fight career going? More than a year has passed since then 90 day fiance Season 9 was filmed. Biniyam’s career is picking up speed. According to the stats on Tapology, Bini fights under the name “Babycool” in the “Featherweight” weight class.
According to the site, Biniyam has won his two previous fights. His last fight was on August 13, 2021 in New York at the Flex Fight MMA event. Prior to that, he had his first MMA fight for the Revolution Combat Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in the featherweight category, where he won by TKO (technical knockout).
Biniyam’s fighting background
As fans know, Biniyam aka Babycool fought while he was in Ethiopia. According to his bio, Biniyam started fighting at a young age. His bio explains: “Biniyam ‘Baby’ Shibre was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He showed athletic ability from an early age and was encouraged by his late father to take up martial arts from a young age.”
It continues: “However, his athletic ability is not limited to one sport. He competed in bodybuilding. He also remains active in circus training, which combines acrobatics, gymnastics and performance arts.”
His biography reads: “He fought three times as a kickboxer in Ethiopia. He is a member of United Africa MMA, an association working to bring the sport to a wider audience in East Africa.”
While Ariela might not be happy that Biniyam works out for over four hours a day at a gym that takes almost an hour to get to, all her dedication is paying off. Perhaps Biniyam will still achieve his dream of becoming a professional MMA fighter. Audiences can see more of Biniyam’s journey to the ring and down the aisle in Season 9.
