Year following year, Call of Duty is in the news, as this successful Activision franchise receives new titles annually, although this seems to end following the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, which will arrive on Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 28, 2022. Many rumors have been indicating that 2023 would be a year without Call of Duty, but following having Activision itself deniedit seems that next year the indie zombie call of duty game might be the one.
From what we’ve known for a year or so now, there’s supposedly a separate Call of Duty Zombies project in development, which isn’t currently connected to any title in the franchise. While Call of Duty fans have been asking Activision for a Zombies-only game for years, and now it looks like this might be more real than ever, as Kevin Drewassociate director of design at Treyarch, has suggested via a tweet that Call of Duty Zombies as an independent game would be a reality.
We have big plans for zombies and want to grow the team to realize them. There are several design positions open at a range of experience level so it’s a great time to apply if you are interested! https://t.co/8Abyfur0vK

We remind you that Activision said it was working on “an exciting slate of premium and free Call of Duty experiences for this year, next year, and beyond.” So now we will have to wait to see if one of these projects is the Zombies game, which would be interesting to see as they offer a more complete and ambitious experience than that seen in installments of Call of Duty.
