The shirt that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky wore on Vyshyvanka Day on May 19 was sold at a charity auction for $100,000. The auction itself took place in Washington. This is reported by the Ukrainian media.

“The shirt was sold at an auction in Washington for $100,000. The law firm Asters USA became the buyer of the lot,” UNIAN notes.

Earlier, Zelensky posted on social networks a photo in an embroidered shirt, which commentators recognized as a Russian shirt with a slanting collar – a kosovorotka. Subscribers of the Ukrainian leader found the publication outrageous and offensive. A scandal erupted on the social network regarding this. Mikhail Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the President’s Office called such criticism unmotivated. Ukrainian designer Artem Klimchuk, who became the author of the vyshyvanka, said that he did everything on the basis of samples stored in the museum, but “modernized” it a bit.
