The authorities in Bern are already fearing June 30, the day on which the verdict in the Rocker trial is to be announced. An ex-gang member also suspects evil.
At the end of June, the bike trial in Bern should be completed with the pronouncement of the verdict. Authorities already fear the day as they face the “Sunday Newspaper” (Paid items) say. Because the clashes at the beginning of the week, where the police might only tell the two enemy rocker groups Hells Angels and Bandidos apart with a massive contingent, was only a foretaste of what might follow on June 30th. “The day of the verdict will be a very sensitive moment and we are concerned,” says Bernese security director Reto Nause.
All options are currently being explored with the police. Nause had asked for the trial to be relocated. But only the court can order such a thing. This wants to stick to the previous place of negotiation in the office building. The statement of an ex-Bronco member who is close to the Bandidos confirms that the fears of the authorities are not entirely unfounded: “If there is a conviction, the Bandidos will attack the Hells Angels in Switzerland massively,” says the man opposite the Sunday newspaper. With the help of supporters from abroad, the Bandidos would attack targets such as clubhouses.
reconstruction of fact
22 members of three rocker gangs have been in front of the Bern regional court since the end of May because they took part in a gang war on May 11, 2019. According to the indictment, this was triggered by the fact that members of foreign “Bandidos” chapters had openly worn their robes and other gang symbols at a motorbike exhibition. The Hells Angels who were also present and the Broncos who were friends with them would have taken that as a provocation, in particular because they would have suspected that the Bandidos wanted to found a chapter in Switzerland.
The Hells and Broncos then mobilized members and drove “in large numbers” to Belp, where the Bandidos were throwing a birthday party. The investigative authorities were only able to partially reconstruct what followed: it is clear that both groups armed themselves with wooden sticks, iron bars and knives and attacked each other. Several members of both groups were injured, some seriously.
A member of the Bandidos loaded his gun and repeatedly hit a Hells Angel in the head with it. A shot was fired. As a deterrent, the Bandidos continued to fire several times in the air and later at a Hells car that was speeding towards him. He hit a member of the Hells Angels in the stomach. He later had emergency surgery and his spleen removed.
