Meghan Markle, the wife of Prince Harry, grabbed the attention as she attended the Thanksgiving service as part of Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebrations, on Friday.
For the first time since “Megxit”, a term that refers to the decision of spouses Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to step back from their senior roles in the British royal family, the Duke of Sussex met with the rest of the royal family in London, to attend the platinum jubilee celebration of Queen Elizabeth II following 70 years of ascension British throne.
And it seems that Markle wanted to be her look, following an absence, impeccable by sending a special message to the family of her husband, Prince Harry, by choosing the color white.
For this special occasion, two years following leaving the UK with her husband Prince Harry, the very elegant Duchess of Sussex opted for a long-sleeved, long-sleeved Dior-designed Maria Grazia Chiuri coat dress with a large collar, belted waist and gloves.
The charming look was paired with a wide-brimmed hat, as well as the signature of Dior hat designer, Stephen Jones, the look, all in soft white, to attend the ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral.
She accessorized her look with a pair of luxurious earrings studded with diamonds and an elegant bracelet by Cartier jewelry brand, which added to her glamorous look, a royal touch.
For the Sussexes, this is their first official event with the British royal family since their move to California.
As for Markle’s choice of white in her first appearance following returning to London for the first time two years ago, according to the Italian “Fan Page” website, it is a strategic choice with a special meaning, which the Duchess of Sussex wants to send to her husband’s family.
For many, the color white is a symbolic choice, as it seemed like a peace offering to the royal family or a way to get rid of the image of the “evil star” attributed to it by the media.
During the service, Markle sat in the second row alongside Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their husbands, and Sarah Chatto, Princess Margaret’s daughter, and her family.
The platinum jubilee activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II to the British throne began on Thursday with the parade of “Trooping the Color”, the annual birthday parade of Queen Elizabeth II.
