Jurgen Klopp has identified the Martin Terrier as a potential replacement for Sadio Mane as the Senegalese captain draws closer to completing a transfer to Bayern Munich.
The blow came when it was revealed that Mane wanted to try elsewhere following Liverpool lost 1-0 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final. Many doubts have been raised regarding Mohammed Salah’s future, but Mane is the first to move.
However, Liverpool will not allow him to leave until they find a potential replacement and it appears Klopp has identified his man. And following a rampant season in League One, terriers might pose a similar threat.

Liverpool do not want Mane to leave the club and they hoped to negotiate a new long-term contract with the forward. However, Mane appears to believe he can meet his wage requirements elsewhere, and Liverpool should start looking elsewhere.
And following a season of scoring 21 goals for Rennes for the 25-year-old terrier, he might be him, especially since he has traits similar to Mane. The Senegalese forward has been very valuable to Liverpool due to his goal threat and versatility, but the Terrier can also play on the flank or in the centre.
And at a height of 6’2 he might also pose more physical threats that he lacks at Liverpool’s front line. The Reds may have some of the best strikers in the world, but they’re all small, agile players with no apparent stature or presence.

Liverpool are said to be demanding £40m from Mane, who has only one year left on his contract. Terrier, on the other hand, has a contract with Rennes until 2025, but the transfer should be reasonably simple.
The terrier has helped Ren to qualify for the Europa League, but what excites Liverpool fans is his active goal engagement. Rennes finished fourth, but scored the second-most goalscorer in Ligue 1, scoring only eight fewer than Paris Saint-Germain, which has been rampant this season.
The 25-year-old Terrier would have been a year older than Man when he joined Liverpool in 2016. But if he can make it, he might be a master stroke and a perfect replacement.
