There are a thousand and one ways to describe a human such as his sex, his nationality, his morphology etc… And there is one rather reserved for scientists but which would have an importance concerning certain symptoms or diseases: the blood group ! In the world, blood groups are immutable, there are groups A, B, O and AB, with positive or negative rhesus. Many scientific studies suggest that blood type might influence certain diseases or syndromes… Certain blood groups therefore deserve very special attention with regard to the appearance of certain diseases. Explanations.
Memory loss and brain problems
According to several scientific studies, memory and brain loss problems affect group O individuals less than those in groups A, B and AB. The latter would be 82% more likely to develop cognitive disorders or experience memory loss. And one of the hypotheses to explain this factor would be that these blood groups are more prone to high blood pressure, cholesterol or even diabetes than group O individuals. These same blood groups might also be more predisposed to undergo CVA (cerebrovascular accident) than those of group O. By extrapolation, it turns out that groups A, B and AB would therefore be more likely to develop neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease for example.
Group O more resistant?
The people of group O also seem more protected cardiovascular diseases and heart attacks… And it would not be a coincidence but it would be due to the fact that type O blood does not contain the ABO gene present in all the other blood groups. The ABO gene, for people who live in very polluted areas, would be an additional risk factor for heart attack. This ABO gene would also increase the risk of coronary heart disease. Absent of blood group O, carriers of this group would therefore be more protected than others.
Group A more exposed to cancers
The presence of the ABO gene would also be responsible for a higher risk of cancer in individuals with blood group A. The gene has already been associated with various cancers of all types (stomach, breast, prostate, lung, liver, etc.) and group A people were more numerous than the others. However, this is only an observation since no research has been able to scientifically prove this hypothesis. Be that as it may, we have no possible influence on our blood group and are obliged to “make do with” what nature has given us…
What to do to prevent risks?
On the other hand, scientists believe that individuals from groups A, B or AB should have a more drastic lifestyle than the group O individuals. For example, if you are one of the subjects in group A, it would be good to think regarding quitting smoking, for example, to avoid increasing the risk of cancer… Or to practice sport more regularly in order to avoid cardiovascular problems for groups A, B and AB. Which obviously does not mean that individuals of group O can afford all the excesses! As summer approaches, consider give your bloodthe reserves are already very low, and the need will increase like every summer!
