The Vice-President in charge of Regional Development, Regional Integration and Service Delivery of the AfDB African Development Bank, Yacine Fal, will pay a working visit to Morocco from June 6 to 14.
During her visit, said an AfDB press release, the Vice-President will meet with members of the government, including Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance, Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, as well as Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies.
Ms. Fal will also take part in the work of the Regional Conference on the theme “The future of employment and the role of entrepreneurship and very small and small and medium-sized enterprises in North Africa”, scheduled for June 7 and 8. in Rabat, says the same source.
The Vice-President will also represent the Bank at the retreat of the Committee of Fifteen Ministers of Finance of the African Union Commission (F15), organized by Morocco.
On the program of meetings with the private sector, Ms. Fal should notably meet the president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Chakib Alj as well as the CEO of Casablanca Finance City Authority, Saïd Ibrahimi, according to the same source.
“By its history, its excellence and its vitality, our relationship with Morocco is unique,” said the vice-president, quoted by the press release.
She added that “The Kingdom is our first partner with an important portfolio of operations and structuring reforms which position it as a leader in areas such as investment and regional integration”, noting that her visit aims to “further strengthen this exemplary partnership”.
The African Development Bank has been active in Morocco for over fifty years. The operations cover health, agriculture, energy, water, transport, human development and the financial sector totaling more than 12 billion euros in financing.
