The journalist Andrés Vial said goodbye on the screen to Mr. Marcelo Villarroel Von Martens, historical host of the channel’s press phones who died at the age of 89.
At the close of 24 Central Hours, the communicator took a minute from the news to dedicate an emotional message on behalf of the team.
“Today in our press department we fired one of our people… his voice breaks, despite the fact that he had not worked with us for 13 years, he was still one of us, we remembered him every day, with his joy, his spark, his wisdom”, he acknowledged.
Then, he confirmed that “Marcelo Villarroel left us yesterday at the age of 89. For many of us, for your friends, it is impossible… public television is made by its workers and you embodied that like few others.
“A hug to heaven, rest in peace, a hug to your whole family, from the entire team that was lucky enough to work with you,” he concluded.
Through Twitter, the communicator also remembered Don Marcelo.
Hug to heaven dear Marcelo. Big as this hug I gave you on my wedding day. Thank you for so much Marcelo Villarroel Von Martens… pic.twitter.com/AzgTHoZVHw
