– The Pentecost weekend will be stormy

The thunderstorms expected on Friday were less violent than expected, MeteoNews said in the evening. 3,000 lightning strikes were still recorded until the beginning of the evening over the whole of Switzerland, and more than 30 millimeters of rain sometimes fell, especially in the south.
The thunderstorms have meanwhile moved east and most of the lightning has been recorded in the cantons of St. Gallen (875) and Thurgau (508). According to SRF Meteo, the potential for severe thunderstorms was expected to increase once more overnight from Friday to Saturday.

Various meteorological services had predicted a stormy Pentecost weekend on Friday. Bad weather is forecast especially on Sunday, and there will be a risk of local hail, heavy rain and gusty winds.
According to MeteoNews, temperatures might reach 30 degrees over the weekend.
