Precise police investigations into the origin of the data are ongoing. Hackers launched another attack -security system withstand.

Klagenfurt (OTS/LPD) After the hacker attack on the Carinthian state administration, alleged data from the state of Carinthia was published on an internet platform. At the instigation of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, this download option has already been blocked. “We do not have the said data package and can therefore not currently confirm that it is actually data from the state of Carinthia,” emphasizes Gerd Kurath, head of the state press service.

The data protection authority was informed last week that a possible data leak cannot be ruled out due to the hacker attack. Investigations are currently underway to clarify the origin of the data. “The state IT works closely with the executive,” says Kurath, pointing out that criminal investigations do not fall within the competence of the state, but are the task of the executive.

According to the experts, it can currently be ruled out that the hackers can penetrate the state IT once more. “The country’s systems are still offline and are being restored strictly according to the principle of safety before speed,” says Kurath, pointing out that the hackers issued another ultimatum at the beginning of the week and threatened a denail of service attack on the country’s IT systems to have. “The renewed attack was successfully repelled,” reports Kurath, emphasizing that the country will not respond to the ransom demands.
