The price of gasoline 95 is 2.13 euros per litre. Never seen. A surge in prices that pushes some motorists to cheat and drive on heating oil.
This morning at the pump, the price of gasoline stings the eyes and especially the wallet.
“I’m shocked to see the price of gasoline, it’s really impressive”confides a motorist. “I have to be careful not to go over 50 euros. Otherwise it’s a bit of a hassle for the end of the month”says another.
Once once more, motorists feel powerless in the face of this situation. As for Frédéric, he recently started driving on heating oil. The man showed us the equipment he uses for this operation.
“There is everything: funnel, pump, rubber band to hold the funnel… and all you have to do is empty the cans”he explains.
Frédéric thus saves regarding 50 euros per tank. He is aware of cheating, but the end of the month has become too difficult. “Despite me and my wife who both work, we turn more or less at 3,000 euros per month. Diesel becomes a budget…”, he laments. I wonder if today it wouldn’t be worse to say to yourself ‘Hey, I’m not going to work anymore. I will remain unemployed, there is no expense, there are no kilometers, there is nothing.”
The record in Belgium has been reached for gasoline 95, but prices should stabilize for the next few days. “Gasoline might possibly increase a little bit, but in relatively small proportions and diesel, logically, should not increase in the coming days according to the quotations we have today”, says Olivier Nerynck, spokesperson for the Belgian federation of fuel and fuel traders.
The price of heating oil has also increased. It reaches 1.37 euros per liter for a full tank of less than 2,000 litres.
