The seven jurors answered in the affirmative in their ruling, which was followed in court, to the question of whether the title and two clips from an article that Heard published in the Washington Post in 2018 contained defamatory content once morest “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Johnny Depp.
Although Heard did not explicitly mention Johnny Depp’s name in that article, the famous actor considered that the article tarnished his reputation and undermined his career, and demanded compensation of 50 million dollars, according to AFP.
The jury awarded Johnny Depp $15 million in damages.
On the other hand, the jury found actor Johnny Depp guilty of defaming Amber Heard, and recommended that he pay her two million dollars in compensation.
Amber Heard, 36, said she was “indescribable” disappointment with the verdict in the defamation case.
Heard had filed a defamation lawsuit once morest her ex-husband, seeking damages of up to $100 million.
