Jin Joong-kwon “The Democratic Party expected a disastrous defeat from the beginning” vs Ko Min-jung “biased criticism”

[이데일리 송혜수 기자] Regarding the exit poll results of the three terrestrial broadcasters (KBS, MBC, SBS) in the 17 regional elections for the 8th nationwide local election, former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon said, “From the beginning, I saw that the Democratic Party would be defeated.” The lawmaker responded with “biased criticism”.

On the 1st, former Prof. Jin, Rep. Ko, and Rep. Heo Eun-ah, People’s Strength, appeared on the 8th episode of SBS YouTube’s ‘Everywhere Jisun Live’ and exchanged opinions regarding the results of the exit investigation. As a result of the exit polls of the three terrestrial broadcasters in the election of the heads of 17 regional groups, the Democratic Party had the upper hand in four places and the people’s power in ten places, and the remaining three places were a close battle.

On this day, former professor Jin said, “From the beginning, I thought the Democratic Party was going to lose.” “My expected score was 12-5. Aren’t 3 places in a close battle right now? The power of the people is advantageous. Even if there is only one overturning here, my prediction might come true,” he said.

Rep. Ko said, “There are places where there is less than a 1 percentage point difference as a result of the exit poll, so we have to watch until the end. This is the time to analyze and act accurately.”

Then, Professor Jin said, “I wonder if they will go with the same stance as in the past while talking regarding their own mental victory storytelling, such as ‘We lost and fought well (we lost)’ and ‘It was almost a close battle’,” said Professor Jin. This was won. After that, regarding a month later, I said that the downfall of the Democratic Party was expected.”

He continued, “But then, the Democratic Party was drunk (the victory). If the election had been done properly, we would have been able to win in three places. If it was not an election that might be won, we should have gone down the path of principled defeat.”

“What did the Democrats do? The two men responsible for the defeat in the presidential election came out as two tops. They took the issue to ‘check-and-take’.” He continued, “I kept pointing out from the outside, but is it that people in the Democrats don’t understand it or are they trapped in their own world? (The Democratic Party) also suffered a devastating defeat in the by-election and election. (After the local elections) Something needs to change, will it change? skeptical,” he said.

Assemblyman Koh expressed his displeasure, saying, “I think he made a biased criticism rather than a cold criticism.”

Assemblyman Koh said, “Actually, there were many things within the party, but even so, following the candidates are elected, we have no choice but to unite with them. You are responsible for the results once more. Everything has to be consequential. It is too early to say definitively what the outcome will be in the three places that are still fighting,” he added.

However, former professor Jin said, “This is the typical attitude of the Democratic Party. Not only me, but also those who once supported the Democratic Party and no longer support the Democratic Party must have this mindset. The real problem is that the Democrats do not accept these kinds of people.”

Assemblyman Koh also did not lose and said, “The same words are repeated over and over once more, don’t they each have their own opinions? I also said that the person responsible for the cause of the election loss should be held accountable. But I think there is a problem in not accepting that and pointing out that he only made biased statements regarding his own thoughts.”
