As reported by the Bern canton police, there was a head-on collision between a car and a truck in the Seeland municipality of Ins BE in Bern on Wednesday.
According to initial findings, the driver was driving shortly before 7 a.m. on Murtenstrasse from Ins in the direction of Sugiez. At the same time, a truck was driving in the opposite direction when, for reasons that have yet to be clarified, there was a head-on collision between the vehicles.
As the canton police continue to write, the driver of the car was seriously injured in the collision. Despite immediate rescue measures, any help came too late for the man – he died at the scene of the accident. There are concrete indications of the identity of the deceased, but formal identification is still pending. The truck driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
