A 22-year-old Venezuelan woman, identified as Maryeisy Carolina Barrios, was kidnapped from her home in Arima, a town in Trinidad and Tobago, police said in a statement Tuesday.

Information from the authorities indicates that the woman was forcibly removed from her residence early today, in Arima.

The kidnapping occurred following a group of men entered the house. There they tied Alex Rodríguez, 35 years old, and Levisa García, 49 years old. Both of Venezuelan nationality and relatives of the woman.

The assailants stole cellphones and cash from the home before driving the woman away in a black Mitsubishi car.

The neighbors heard the incident and notified the police. police, what arrived following the assailants left the place.

Officers from the Northern Division Emergency Response Patrol and the Arima Crime Patrol searched the area. They confirmed that no ransom had been demanded.
