1. Jan Dara: the Beginning (2012)
Set in the 1930s, the story of Jan, a boy who grows up in a house controlled by his sadistic and depraved father, Luang Wisnan. The film chronicles the growing pains of Jan, whose mother died giving birth to him and who was deeply hated by his father.
Jan grew up with Aunt Wad, his stepmother, and he struggles to reconcile his guilt and longing with the different women in his life. Among them are Hyacinth whom he adores, and later Madame Boonleung his father’s mistress who is the key to Jan’s sexual awakening.
