History repeats itself sadly in the screaming city. Thirteen will therefore be an unlucky number for Excel. It was indeed almost thirteen years following the bankruptcy of Excelsior Mouscron (2009) that his successor suffered the same fate…
This outcome seemed inevitable for long weeks. After being refused the license, both by the commission and by the C-Sar on appeal, registration number 216 had been returned to D2 ACFF. The best ! But with the debts accumulated over the years, it seemed impossible for a buyer to have the guts to make a buyout.
A small hope had pointed a fortnight ago through a Swiss track. This had prompted the Mouscronnois board of directors to take a period of 15 days in order to “explore all possible avenues”. But in vain… The hole to be filled was far too big. Especially to save a 4th division club at Belgian level.
The time to denounce those responsible for this failure or to discuss possible solutions for a possible future will come… But in the meantime, we can only regret a huge mess as the pro group and the young people of Futuro had delivered an interesting season .
From now on, it is players and employees who find themselves without jobs. But also supporters who are deprived of their passion…

During the last Board of Directors, accompanied by the city and the IEG, the members of the Board had decided to take additional time for reflection to try to find a solution to the problems encountered by the club. A working group, made up of Pierre Huys, Guy Brutsaert, Benjamin Seillier and the club’s lawyers, had been tasked with studying the various possible avenues.
At the end of this two-week period, and despite significant reductions in charges that might be envisaged, no solution has been found to finance a PRJ.
The Board of Directors has therefore decided to declare bankruptcy.
It is with great pain and disappointment that we had to make this decision.
At the same time, steps towards the ACFF have been taken on the front end in order to allow the women’s and men’s teams of Futurosport to evolve at the highest possible level, that is to say in 1st Provincial for girls and in Inter-Provincial for boys.
