Many people may think washing the chicken is a good thing. Nothing might be further from the truth. Washing raw chicken increases the risk of food poisoning.

The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has long warned that washing chicken before cooking increases the risk of spreading campylobacter bacteria to hands, work surfaces, clothing and cooking utensils through projected water drops.

However, many people still make the same mistake.
