Sony has managed to refine its offer to position the range comprising the A80K / A83K / A84K as the best value for money in its OLED catalog. In fact, the improvements are numerous compared to last year. The image is sublimated by the processing of the Cognitive Processor, the slight progress in terms of brightness offers a more frank and dynamic HDR experience, just like at the audio level.
Expected at the turn with regard to the gaming experience, Sony does not disappoint this year. The A83K is ready to go to provide the best possible experience with the PlayStation 5, without forgetting other gamers. Between VRR, 4K at 120 Hz, HDR and mode Game, we have not detected any flaws. One downside: you have to make do with only two HDMI 2.1 ports out of the four on this TV.
There is, however, the issue of pricing to consider. Sony’s A80K range comes to market with higher prices than some competitors are offering. The Japanese is counting on its solid assets in terms of images and video processing to make the difference, and of course on its ecosystem, from its game console to its sound bars, the use of which is ultimately preferable with a Bravia XR television. .
And then there is the light! Good progress has been made with the A83K, but the light peak remains behind when you want to take advantage of a mode dedicated to cinema. Be that as it may, the A83K has many assets to make to seduce; it is undoubtedly one of the most complete OLED televisions on the market today.
