Honor 70 and Honor 70 Pro smartphones unveiled: everything for the photo

Honor has unveiled three new smartphones in China, the Honor 70, 70 Pro and 70 Pro+. These new flagships want to push smartphone photography forward.

After the discovery of visuals, Honor presented in length its new Honor 70 Series range, made up of the Honor 70, the Honor 70 Pro and the Honor 70 Pro +. What we obviously notice first is the large photo module installed on the back of the smartphone, which is not not reminiscent of that of the Huawei P50 Prowhile the two brands are officially independent of each other.

An “industry-leading” photo module

This photo module is perfectly assumed by the Chinese brand in its press release. Honor notably uses Sony’s latest flagship in terms of photo sensor, the 50-megapixel Sony IMX800 with a size of 1/1.49 inch. The brand promises that this new sensor should work wonders on night photos. On the three smartphones Honor 70, Honor 70 Pro and Honor 70 Pro +, the main device will be supported by a 50 MP sensor equipped with an ultra wide angle f / 2.2 122 ° lens. On the Honor 70 Pro and Pro + there will also be an 8 MP telephoto lens capable of offering a 3x optical zoom. On the other hand, the third sensor will make up the numbers on the Honor 70. A simple 2 megapixel “depth sensor”, we know that this kind of sensor is mainly used to look pretty on the technical sheet in store.

Honor promises that this triple camera system with image processing developed by the brand will allow it to offer the best images in the industry. This processing will be carried out by a different chip depending on the model, the other big difference between the Honor 70, 70 Pro and 70 Pro +.

Snapdragon ou Mediatek Dimensity

If the Honor 70 is satisfied with a classic Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus, which is already very fast, the Honor 70 Pro and Pro + will step up a gear with the latest flagships from MediaTek. The Honor 70 Pro thus integrates a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 and the Honor 70 Pro, a MediaTek Dimensity 9000. Both chips should offer a very good level of photo processing, but also excellent performance in video games.

Manufactured with the TSMC N4 manufacturing process (the latest to date), the Dimensity 9000 chip integrates 8 CPU cores including an ARM Cortex-X2 core at 3.05 GHz. It is above all the first SoC to integrate an ARM Mali-G710 MC10 graphics chip rivaling the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in game. Mediatek also highlights its imaging processing capabilities on the MediaTek Imagiq 790 processor, with the possibility of managing a 320 MP sensor and process 4K HDR video with AI noise reduction.
