With regard to the last four editions, the organizers have noted that for many children from schools in rural areas who have ocular deficiencies, their parents are generally not informed, or do not necessarily have the financial means to remedy their this visual deficiency. As a result, the school results of their offspring are catastrophic. They are therefore forced for many to abandon the benches of the school.

Exactly, a caravan of ophthalmologists recently visited the schools on the route of the Raid International de Solidarité and drew up the prescriptions necessary for the supply of pairs of glasses. These will be distributed when the participants of the Raid pass in a few days. “We integrate the glasses into a pack by adding shoes, sportswear, T-shirts, caps and books,” adds Mr. Abdellaoui.
