B League which closed the curtain of 2021-22 season, B1 and B2 affiliated clubs are decided next season, B1 will fight in 3 district system –Basketball Count | Basket Count

B1 has 24 clubs in total, 8 clubs in each district

The B-League ended the season yesterday with the victory of Utsunomiya Brex.

Despite being greatly influenced by the new coronavirus, B1 played 604 out of 660 league games and B2 played 361 out of 420 games. Utsunomiya won the B1 and Fighting Eagles Nagoya won the B2.

Two clubs from B2 to B1 and two clubs from B3 to B2 are automatically promoted this season, and there is no demotion. Therefore, FE Nagoya and Sendai 89ER were promoted to B1, and Nagasaki Velca and Altiri Chiba decided to be promoted to B2.

In the 2022-23 season, B1 will have a total of 24 clubs in 3 districts (8 clubs in 1 district), and B2 will have 14 clubs in 2 districts (7 clubs in 1 district).

East area: Hokkaido, Sendai (promotion), Akita, Ibaraki, Utsunomiya, Gunma, Chiba, A Tokyo
Middle district: SR Shibuya, Kawasaki, Yokohama, Niigata, Toyama, Shinshu, Sanen, Mikawa
West area: FE Nagoya (promotion), Nagoya D, Shiga, Kyoto, Osaka, Shimane, Hiroshima, Ryukyu

B2 (14 clubs)
East area: Aomori, Yamagata, Fukushima, Koshigaya, A Chiba (promotion), Tokyo Z, Nishinomiya
West area: Nara, Kagawa, Ehime, Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki (promotion), Kumamoto

Also, in the postseason of the 2022-23 season, the top 2 clubs in each district + 2 wildcard clubs will advance to B1. In B2, the top 3 clubs in each district and 2 wildcard clubs will advance. After the end of the season, two clubs will be automatically raised and lowered between B1 and B2 and between B2 and B3.

The league has also announced that the abbreviations for Chiba Jets will be changed to “Chiba J” and Yokohama B-Corsairs will be changed to “Yokohama BC” from July 1st this year.
