Al Bowardi discusses with the Turkish Defense Minister strengthening military cooperation

Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bawardi, Minister of State for Defense Affairs, received at the Ministry’s office, yesterday morning, Hulusi Akar, Turkish Minister of Defense and his accompanying delegation, who is on an official visit to the country.

The reception was attended by Lieutenant-General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, and a number of senior officers of the Ministry.

During the meeting, the Minister of State for Defense Affairs welcomed Hulusi Akar, stressing the importance of the historical relations between the two friendly countries, which date back decades, especially since the beginning of joint cooperation in 1984.

During the meeting, they discussed a number of areas for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, especially in the military and defense fields, and ways to support and develop them, in a way that enhances the common interests of security and stability in the region.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the development of cooperation in the fields of military training and defense industries and the exchange of experiences to achieve the national interests of the two friendly countries.

The meeting concluded with the organization of a field visit by the Turkish Minister of Defense and the accompanying delegation to a number of promising Emirati companies in this vital sector to get acquainted with the latest developments and technologies reached by the UAE military industries and products.
