Saudi Arabia.. New appointments under royal orders, including a new position for Al-Jubeir

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)–The Saudi monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, issued a number of royal orders that included a new position for Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir.

King Salman decided to appoint Al-Jubeir as envoy for climate affairs, in addition to his work, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

King Salman relieved the governor of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, Abdul Rahman Al-Harbi, of his position and appointed him as the Kingdom’s ambassador to China.

In addition to the appointment of Hammoud bin Badah Al-Muraikhi and Abdul Rahman Al-Kanhal as advisers to the Royal Court at the excellent rank, Tariq bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris as advisor to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and Badr Hadab as assistant to the Chairman of the Council of Experts, following he was relieved of the position of Assistant Minister of Commerce.

The Saudi monarch made changes in the leadership of Public Security and Public Investigation, appointing Major General Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Basami as Director of Public Security and promoting him to the rank of Lieutenant-General, and Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Issa as Director of General Investigations.

He also appointed Abdul Rahman bin Suleiman Al-Siyari as a member of the Shura Council. Meanwhile, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Food and Drug Authority, was relieved of his position. Al-Rabiah previously held the position of Minister of Health.
