The name is not directly associated with Apple. RealityOS was reportedly filed by a company called Realityo Systems LLC. A company that has the particularity… of not really existing. In addition, we find the nomenclature used (and overprotected) by Apple for years. To know :
- iOS on iPhone
- iPadOS on iPad
- macOS for computers
- watchOS pour l’Apple Watch
- tvOS for Apple TV
The name RealityOS would therefore be a logical continuation. Another important detail: Apple is used to recording names a few days before a Keynote. This was the case a few days before the announcement of macOS Yosemite and macOS Big Sur, two names registered by a company called “Yosemite Research LLC.”
Finally, on some documents (RealityOS having been registered in the United States, but also in Brazil, Uganda or Uruguay), there is a familiar logo, using Apple’s proprietary font, namely San Francisco. In short, it seems very plausible that Apple will finally unveil its virtual reality headset this June 6, during the WWDC opening Keynote.
