First case of monkeypox confirmed in Argentina

This Friday, the Ministry of Health of the Nation confirmed the first case of monkey pox in Argentina.

The patient, in his 40s, learned of the positive result before the Ministry released, last Monday, that there was only a high probability.

The man had returned from Spain four days before consulting at a Buenos Aires clinic, where he remains isolated and in good general health.

For now, the patient and at least one person from his family nucleus are isolated. The preventive follow-up of the health personnel of the clinic that attended him in the first consultation and the treating personnel is being carried out.
