For the fourth time this week, the police had to intervene Thursday in an armed attack in Montreal, this time in the Ville-Marie sector.
Around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, a conflict between a group of young people escalated at the intersection of Lincoln and Saint-Mathieu streets, in the borough of Ville-Marie, in Montreal.
The victim, a 19-year-old man, was found in an alley on Sherbrooke Street following being stabbed in the upper body. He was then transported to the hospital center. “We are not afraid for his life,” said spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Mariane Allaire Morin.
One of the suspects was arrested and is now in police custody. The SPVM is still looking for his accomplice.
Investigators and a canine team were dispatched to the scene to shed light on the events.
