In an interview with The Daily Beast, Salvador Ramos said “I want people to know that I’m sorry. I’m sorry for what my son did. I never expected him to do something like this”.
Salvador Ramos, 42, admitted that he had not spent much time with his son, also called Salvador, because he does not work in Uvalde and the pandemic coronavirus.

Salvador’s mother (father) had cancer and he might not risk contracting COVID-19 for her. But for Salvador Jr., the precautions that his father was taking with the pandemic were a source of frustration and that for regarding a month he refused to talk to him.
