Police arrest two girls in their 60s for indecent assault in Sham Shui Po

Police yesterday (26th) arrested a 64-year-old man in Sham Shui Po for allegedly indecently assaulting two girls aged 11 and 13.

On August 15 last year and yesterday (August 25), the police received reports from two girls aged 13 and 11 respectively, alleging that they were molested by a man near Guilin Street and Yu Chau Street in Sham Shui Po respectively. Officers from the Sham Shui Po Divisional Task Force and the Sham Shui Po District Criminal Intelligence Unit checked the CCTV footage of the relevant location and identified a male suspect. Yesterday, a 64-year-old man surnamed Tsang local was arrested on Yuzhou Street on suspicion of “indecent assault”. The case was handed over to Sham Shui Po District Criminal Investigation Team 9 for follow-up. The arrested man is being detained for investigation.

The police reiterated that indecent assault is a serious crime, and once convicted, the maximum penalty is 10 years in prison. Members of the public should not try the law.
