Spectacular car fire last night in the Var, around twenty vehicles damaged

When they received the alert, around 3 a.m. Thursday night, three cars were on fire. But when they arrived at the scene, near the May 8, 1945 bowling alley in Ollioules, no less than 16 vehicles were engulfed in flames.

The Var firefighters had to work to limit the spread of the disaster and prevent the flames from ravaging the other cars parked around.

Five others, however, were damaged by thermal radiation from the fires.

For this, the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis 83) dispatched three fire engines and a group leader, i.e. 15 firefighters, to the scene.
