In Guyana, prices continue to rise. The consumer price index varies by 0.9% in April 2022. Energy, unsurprisingly, recorded the strongest increase. Inflation resumed with an increase of 3.0% over one year and 2.2% over the last 3 months.

Like every month, INSEE publishes the household consumer price index. consumer price index varies by 0.9% in April 2022. Energy prices are rising despite the 15 cents of state aid to individuals. Diesel fuel and bottled butane prices increased by 9.7% and 2.6% respectively, while the price of gasoline decreased by 1.0%. Over a year, energy prices rose 17.6% and 12.9% over the last three months, between February and April 2022.
Result : the increase in service prices of 1.0%. Transport, in fact, increased very sharply (+ 8.5%), particularly under the effect of the rise in fuel prices. The fall in the prices of rents and related services (–0.1%) slowed the general rise in prices. In one year, the prices of services have increased by 1.8%, with an acceleration in recent months: + 1.3% since February 2022.
Food prices increased by 0.8%. In question: the prices of fresh products (+ 2.6%). The rise in food prices is +0.6%. Over the past twelve months, food prices are up 3.3% and 1.7% over the last three months.
On the other hand, stability in the prices of manufactured goods: clothing, footwear and health products fluctuated by –0.1%. Other manufactured products change by +0.1%. Year on year, prices for this product category increased by 0.9%.
